What this part does

Common signs of wear

Look for pitted or damaged switch contacts, loose wiring, binding or a shaft that does not rotate freely, stripped or damaged traveling-nut threads, bent/damaged guides, or misadjustment.

Possible symptoms

Possible signs include the hook failing to stop at the upper or lower end of travel, a stopping point that changes, or a hoist that raises but will not lower / lowers but will not raise because a limit circuit remains open.
