What this part does
Converts electrical power into the mechanical torque that drives the JLC lifting mechanism at the specified horsepower, voltage, phase and speed.
Common signs of wear
Look for overheating or discoloration, burnt odor, damaged leads or insulation, noisy/loose bearings, shaft or coupling wear, moisture contamination, and evidence of open/shorted windings.
Possible symptoms
Possible signs include hoist hesitation, failure to start, humming with little or no movement, sluggish lifting, abnormal motor heat, tripping, or reduced lifting performance. Brake, voltage, load and control faults should be ruled out before condemning the motor.
Inspection / ordering tip
Disconnect and lock out power. Verify supply voltage/frequency, load condition, brake release and control wiring first; then inspect motor leads, winding continuity, bearings, shaft and coupling. Confirm the exact motor nameplate/configuration before replacement.
